QRI is proud to join the Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C), reinforcing its role in building the U.S. quantum ecosystem by fostering partnerships that accelerate research, innovation, technology transfer, and workforce
development.
We are excited to announce that the Quantum Research Institute (QRI) has become a member of the Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C), an industry-driven organization dedicated to advancing the U.S. quantum ecosystem.
As a QED-C member, QRI will engage with companies, universities, national laboratories, and government organizations to identify critical gaps in quantum technology and commercialization, strengthen industry connections, expand opportunities for faculty and students, and contribute to national efforts in collaborative research, workforce development, and technology innovation.
“Developing the quantum workforce and accelerating technology transfer of research into real-world technologies are central to QRI’s mission,” QRI Co-Director Steven Cundiff said. “QED-C membership will help us advance both.”
“Quantum research is increasingly shaped by regional centers of excellence,” QRI Co-Director Mack Kira added. “Michigan is a leader in quantum-light information technologies, and QED-C gives us a platform to help shape national priorities in this area.”
QRI’s membership reflects its ongoing commitment to fostering partnerships that accelerate quantum research, support workforce development, and translate scientific discoveries into real-world impact.
